This business-driven regional headquarters houses the nation’s largest natural gas distribution utility. The large-scale, fourphased renovation addresses three goals - to improve cost effectiveness and services to its customers, a real estate consolidation that would dramatically reduce leasing costs; a wholesale re-engineering of the entire workplace to change the organization’s silo culture to a collaborative organization with increased productivity; and, as a public utility company, show leadership in operational and technological efficiency through smart energy use.
The designs impact in changing the workplace culture has resulted in significantly improved firmwide morale and productivity. The project impacts approximately 1,500 staff and 350,000 square feet in a fourteen-floor facility. This project was awarded LEED Gold Certification in December 2012.
